This submission procedure is a set of steps and guidelines that need to be followed. It is important to carefully review and follow the submission procedure to ensure that the material is properly considered and that any required information or documentation is included
To submit a ten-image photo project with a title, description, and captions, follow these steps:
- Choose a topic for your photo essay. It could be anything from a personal experience to a social issue or a cultural phenomenon.
- Select your best ten images that represent your chosen topic. Ensure they are high-quality, high-resolution images that tell a story and evoke emotion.
- Organise and number your images in a logical order. Consider how they flow together and what narrative they create when viewed in sequence.
- Write a title for your photo project. It should be descriptive but short and give readers an idea of what to expect.
- Write a description of your photo project in 100 to 130 words. This should provide more context about the topic and why you chose to photograph it.
- Write captions for each of your images. Captions should provide additional information about the image and its context, such as where it was taken and what is happening in the scene. Captions should be between 10 and 30 words.
- Create a folder containing your high-resolution photos** (preferably TIF files) and accompanying text documents and materials.
- Make sure to name your files and organise them in a way that makes sense.
- Export copies of your image files to JPG and size them to be 1350px on the long edge at 300dpi.
- Submit your photo essay to the Global Focus Project following the upload instructions. Make sure to complete the project title, description, and image captions.
** If your Nomination is endorsed and you are elected, you will be required to submit the high-resolution files at a later date.
All submissions must be received by 15 July 2024 for the election process to be included at Xposure 2025
The judging process for the Global Focus Project will involve a distinguished jury consisting of invited professional photographers and industry experts. Each nomination will require at least two members of the jury to second it in order to move forward into the final selection process.
We believe that this system of requiring two jury members to second each nomination will help ensure that all submissions receive careful and thoughtful consideration. It will also help to ensure that the selection process remains fair and impartial, as multiple perspectives will be considered for each entry.
